When you open this guide, you will be prompted to add it to your phone’s home screen. This is highly recommended as you will be able to access our guide offline and have all the necessary information at your fingertips - no Internet needed. You do not have to download an app or create an account, you just have to save the site and you will see a shortcut on your mobile home screen which looks just like an app.

Alternatively, you can follow the following steps to add the app to your phone.

Android device

1. Tap the Add to Home Screen button.
2. Follow the on-screen instructions to install.
3. Wait a few seconds for your app to install and begin browsing.

iOS device

1. Tap the Share button at the browser options at the bottom of your screen.
2. From the options, tap the Add to Home Screen option. An icon or a screenshot of the website will immediately appear on your home screen.

Please note, offline app functionality is not supported by all devices.

Food

Please remember that all AfriCamps locations are self-catering. If you are not ordering our meal baskets, please make sure you pack your meals, and everything needed to cook them. We provide salt and pepper, but any other spices, sauces and cooking oil must be packed.

Firewood

Firewood is for sale at all our camps, but you are welcome to bring your own.

Swimming towels

AfriCamps provides bath towels, but guests are asked to please bring their own swimming towels for the river and outdoor wood-fired hot tub.

Cooler box

Each tent has a bar fridge that should suffice for a weekend. If you are a full tent or you are staying for longer than a weekend, it is advised to bring an extra cooler box to store your food and drinks, especially in the warmer months.

Pre-heating of hot tub

Click here to order the pre-heating of your hot tub at an additional cost of R250 (weather permitting). This includes the crate of wood and firelighters used to light the tub. (Please note, our staff leave at 16h00 and the pre-lit fire will not be monitored thereafter.)

Pre-order firewood

Firewood is provided at R50 per bag. If you need firewood, click here to send your host a WhatsApp message before 16h00 to arrange delivery to your tent. Please note that wood is not kept at reception.

Wine

We have teamed up with Meander Fine Wines to make your glamping experience in the heart of the Midlands Meander all the more memorable. Place your wine order before your stay and it will be delivered straight to the farm, ready for your arrival. Pick and choose from a selection of fine wines from various South African wineries on their online shop, order, and enjoy upon arrival!
